Mom and Dad Visit

My parents came down to Brownsville for our Charro Days holiday. We went through the interesting cultural experience of a bullfight in Mexico, probably not something I'll do again, but interesting to see for the culture of it. We ate well both in Brownsville and Matamoros, ran the Charro Days 5K, bird-watched at Sabal Palms, got swept over by a cold front at the beach, and enjoyed our time together. I also played golf for the first time in years. I shot par for 18! (For the 18th hole, that is.) Posted by Picasa

Chris Bliss - Smart Comedy for the Information Age

This guy's comedy is pretty good, but for something even better, click on "Must-See Finale." It's a really amazing routine.

Big Bend

Last weekend, we ditched school on Friday and Monday and drove to Big Bend National Park for some backpacking. Almost all of the pictures I took were of Sandesh because he's a professional photographer, so he got all the rest of the pictures and he needed some shots of himself. Here's Sandesh being an extreme photographer. By the way, you should buy his book. Posted by Picasa

Dress-up Day

A few weeks ago, during a training, our principal commented that there was a rumor we were going to have to dress more professionally, but not to worry, we wouldn't be doing it at Pace. Since I wear a tie every day, I joked to Mr. Lanaghan, "What am I supposed to do, wear a suit?" He thought it was funny, so he organized a science department dress-up day on a Friday, the day when most teachers dress even less professionally than they normally do. Posted by Picasa
